HVAC Apprenticeship Program

Do Something That You Are Proud Of

Become A Licensed HVAC Technician

A career as a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician offers stability, growth, and transferable skills, especially here in Texas. Our HVAC Apprenticeship Program is designed for individuals who want to learn the trade the right way, through hands-on experience, structured training, and mentorship from seasoned licensed professionals. If you’re willing to work hard, show up consistently, and take pride in learning, we’ll give you the tools, guidance, and support to build a long-term career in the HVAC industry.

Is it hot? YES, it is extremely hot! So that is something you will want to take into consideration. While we are very safe, this is a difficult job. We will have to enter attics that can reach up to 130 degrees in the scorching Texas heat. This is not made for the faint of heart, but it is honest, well-paid work. HVAC technicians are built differently.

What Is an HVAC Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a paid, on-the-job training program that allows you to learn the HVAC industry while working alongside experienced licensed technicians. Instead of sitting in a boring classroom, you will gain real-world experience while developing technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional work habits in real life!

Our apprenticeship program focuses on:

  • In field hands-on training
  • Safety and procedures
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Customer communication & professionalism
  • Building a strong technical foundation

As an apprentice with Washington AC & Heating, you’ll learn how to:

  • Assist with system installations and repairs
  • Understand HVAC system components
  • Learn to use tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment
  • Follow safety standards and best practices
  • Support senior technicians on service calls

As you and your skills grow, so does your responsibility and pride. These are invaluable skills that can also help you in other industries. HVAC work is challenging but fulfilling. Nothing is more rewarding than a job well done.

What We Look For in an Apprentice

You don’t need years of experience to apply for an apprenticeship, but you do need the right attitude and mindset. We are looking for individuals who are reliable and punctual. We expect the same promptness from you as our clients expect from us on service calls. After showing up, we need you to be willing to learn and take direction. Consistency and a strong work ethic are highly valued. Show up consistently, watch, listen, and learn. We will also expect you to communicate respectfully with your teammates and customers. Morals and manners go a long way in this business. Doing the right thing when no one is looking and taking pride in doing it the right way is standard practice at Washington AC & Heating.

Growth & Career Path

Our goal isn’t to keep you an apprentice forever; it’s to help you grow. We teach you to shine, you will have to grind! Our program is unique to each individual, it may take more time than it does for others, and this is OK. Upon successful completion of our program, apprentices can expect to be hired as junior technicians by a reputable HVAC repair company or to start their own HVAC repair company. Understanding HVAC tools, troubleshooting, and diagnosis can also lead to entry-level roles in other industries, such as oil and gas, which is a major sector here in Texas.
